About the project

Can you imagine a school where students leave their smartphones behind and play sports, games, tournaments, competitions and debates together? It is not impossible. As European Secondary Schools, we will unite and make this dream a reality. We will create digital detox schools where students use the digital world not only successfully and efficiently, but also when they really need it, without depending on their smartphones. They won’t spend a lot of time sticking their noses in their smartphones, they will gain control and learn to navigate this digital world. We must act because we are aware of the dangers in schools. We know that our students lose control of their time, so they are tired, restless, always in a hurry and always behind schedule.

This project aims to raise awareness about the bad effects of smartphones and try to reconnect our students with a world where they prefer face-to-face communication, where they can slow down and breathe deeply, and where they move, walk, run or jump. We know that engaging our students in enjoyable and interesting tasks at school, if we can get them out in nature, can keep them off their smartphones and social media. Only in this way will they notice more of their immediate surroundings and environment, and have better social interaction with each other.
