Music Forms 2020

Date: 14 February 2020

The participants are Lelde Zaržecka (violin), Inese Fedorovska (violin, viola) and Arta Abaroniņa (cello, double bass).

“There is a great or even greater musician in all of us, but not everyone has had the opportunity to develop their musicality and realise their dreams, which is why we, the innovative creative music group, offer a completely original opportunity to hear, see, play and get to know all four classical string instruments – violin, viola, cello and double bass – in one place. For the “Latvijas skolas soma” project, we have created an exciting programme, perfect for primary and secondary school students, which will introduce them to classical instruments through Latvian and foreign music that is relevant to young people. Students will also have the opportunity to take a closer look at and try playing each of these instruments, which may interest some in taking the first steps towards a serious musical education.”

What do students think?

“On Friday, a trio with five musical instruments visited our school. The trio members played both classical and modern music. They also gave us instruments to play. I really enjoyed the lesson and I think my classmates did too.” Max

“I really enjoyed the event. We were told about stringed instruments and it was a very fascinating story. We listened to beautiful modern and old-time music and they, the band, performed it very beautifully. What I enjoyed most was playing the different instruments.” Vasilisa

“We listened to popular tunes from films. It was very interesting to play the musical instruments ourselves.” Dmitry
