Secondary school “Premjers” 5. and 6th graders went on an exciting excursion to Sigulda, where they visited Turaida Castle and Sigulda Castle, and took part in the creative masterclass “Sigulda Stick”. This was a unique opportunity to experience the combination of history, nature and creativity.

Visiting Turaida and Sigulda castles, the pupils got to know the medieval atmosphere, touched the cultural values and enjoyed the picturesque landscapes of Sigulda. They also learned about Turaida Rose – the girl who has become a symbol of love and loyalty, and understood this touching legend.

During the masterclass, students made their own traditional souvenir – the Sigulda wooden walking stick, which symbolises travel and adventure. It was like a journey back in time, enriching the students’ knowledge and leaving vivid impressions.

This excursion not only broadened the students’ horizons, but also fostered creativity, respect for history and appreciation of the beauty of nature.
